Question: Does anyone know friends or family that suffer from brontophobia: fear of thunder?

Do you consider this a weird fear to have??? It's not the fear of thunderstorms so I don't want anybody to say they get scared too when it storms. I mean that actually fear of the loud noise caused by thunder. If you know anyone how did they get over it & if your an adult did it disrupt your life, career etc. Because I have it & I can't see how I could possibly have kids or be responsible for anybody when I experience panic attacks when I hear thunder??? Literally my body freezes and all I can think of is running to a place where I won't hear the sound a closet. also I have very good hearing... literally I think I hear like a cat or dog sometimes... because the sound of thunder sounds much louder to me when I hear it. Which is why it frightens me. Its just like those super hero's who have super hearing as a power. When they hear even a car go by it hurts because it's too loud for them. Imagine every sound being magnified and sounding like earthquakes when it's just a firework.

A lot of people have a fear of thunder; it's perfectly normal.

Yeah, my friend is afraid of thunderstorms. He FREAKS out.

No it s not weird at all a bunch of people are scarded of loud noises id advise listening to loud music get your ears to take loud noise not as bad.

A friend of mine had that and she asked her mom what may have happened to cause her to be like that and apparenty she was in a tornado as a child. her mother thought she knew about it but she couldn't remember it. I guess it was pretty badthough so it stayed with her forever,

My dog is afraid of thunder and I asked the vet about it and he has an inner ear problem that the air pressure affects........dogs and humans can get many of the same things so maybe you have something wrong w/ your ears

OMG im so afraid of thunder!!!!!!!!!!! i dont care when it storms or lightning but the thunder... omg i dunno if its the fact of loud noises but i dunno, thunder totally gets to me too
