Question: Who exactly treats things such as phobias and ocd?

I've been at a complete loss deciding what career I want to pick. I go to college soon, and I have NO clue what I want to do and it's stressing me out. HOWEVER, it just hit me the other day. I have OCD...I haven't been diagnosed, but I'm 99 % sure I have it. Maybe not severely, but I do. I'm CONSTANTLY dealing with the compulsions/ obsessions/ ritual things. It never stops during the day, and it DOES interfere with my life now. Didn't use to..but it definitely has been for awhile. If I don't give in to the urges I start to feel anxious and panic. Anyway, I think something that would interest me as a career is being someone who deals with people who have OCD. Maybe even someone who helps people overcome phobias (I know they're a little different but oh well) If I wanted to research this a little bit, how would I go about doing that? What is the technical term for someone who treats OCD/ phobias? Thank you for any help! |
