How can I get rid of public speaking phobia?
I have a severe public speaking phobia. Knowledge of the subject does not works for me because I get really nervous even when I have to read something I know or when talking in front of just 5 people I don't know well. Some of my symptoms are blushing, sweating, fast heart beating, and run out of air even if I'm speaking slowly, and sometimes I can not continue speaking. I was wandering if I can take Lorazepam, or some medication. I can not join Toastmasters either because I'm not from USA.
Is it possible to overcome a serious public speaking phobia?
If suggestions such as " picture the audience naked," " keep your eyes focused on the back wall," " take deep breaths all day," etc. don't work, are there any other alternatives if public speaking is a part of your life? If a person is losing sleep and getting sick to their stomach a week before the speaking engagement, how do they overcome that? Is it possible?
The cure for public speaking phobia?
So tomorrow, I have to give my testimony of faith in front of my church and family because I am getting confirmed. When I speak in front of crowds, I get shaky. Also, I lose my breath and my voice quivers and it sounds like I'm about to cry. I don't want to be nervous, but I can't help it. I take a deep breath before I begin but always lose my breath. Then I start to ramble. Its absolutely horrible. PLEASE HELP
What are the best anxiety drugs to help with a public speaking phobia?
I'm going to the doctor soon, and I'm going to bring it up. I know the doctor's the expert, but I want to know what the possibilities are so I can tell if he's bullshitting me because I'm 16. I've heard of xanax and valium. They seem pretty strong, and I don't know if there are any that are less strong and addictive. And no crappy advice about practicing lots, breathing deeply, etc. If it helped, I wouldn't be asking.Jss12 Like I said, if the advice worked, I wouldn't be asking for meds. What I want is something that'll keep me clearheaded while trying to give a presentation. I can practice until I know my entire presentation by heart, but I still forget and end up reading from my papers. I take zeros rather than go up if I can keep a C in the class without. I am asking for advice here because I would honestly NOT have something like valium, since it's addictive. It's just what I'd heard of, and it's what I'd have to resort to if there was no other options. Other people have given good suggestions of non addictive meds thanks all of you. I may not have a real disorder, I don't know. But it's definitely more than just some anxiety these are like full blown panic attacks that I literally have to ignore because I have to give my fucking presentation. I don't want to get to a near passed out state every time I give a presentation, because I've literally forgotten to breathe.
I have a public speaking phobia, how will I feel after taking Lorazepam during a public speaking presentation?
I was prescribed Lorazepam because I have a very serious phobia toward public speaking. Tomorrow will be the first day I actually try the medication before a presentation. How much time before the presentation do I have to take the pill? Is suppose to help me with high bp, anxiety, and nervousness? How am I supposed to feel during the presentation?

Please help!!! Public speaking phobia!!?
This has been bugging me for a while and i was wondering if i could have or if there is such thing as public speaking phobia? Every time i speak publicly my heart races, i blush, i swallow my words and gasp for air alot and sometimes end up laughing because im so nervous, obviously this has left me with low grades in school and recently i avoid it by taking the day of school because I'm scared of public speaking or if its sudden and we have to perform the same lesson we found out about having to speak then i say I'm ill to be excused. It's awful and that's just in front of my friends and teachers never mind strangers What can i do to help me? Is there any medications or anything? I also suffer from extreme clown phobia and fear of being murdered and its so bad that i stay awake all night to make sure nothing happens to me oh and a fear of the dark...could i get medication for these four phobias anxieties or is it something i have to put up with? Thanks xxx
