Question: What is the best medication for social phobia?

I tried paxil for 9 months and had to get off of it because it made me moody and aggressive so the doctor switched me to lexapro 20 mg. Its helps my anxiety a lot and makes me in a very good mood, but when I find myself in social situations I still feel a little anxious, and Im in college so when it comes time to introduce myself or do presentations and things like that Im going to need something to help me, or I will get up there in front of the class trying to present and cry, vomit or faint due to being so nervous. So what generic drugs treat social anxiety? What about welbutrin? I am NOT a smoker though.

Looks like you should read this book : The Confidence Course.. BY Walter Anderson....i am reading it now and im not even half way through and it has helped me IMMENSLY..just try it. :)

You have a severe case of social anxiety disorder. Taking medication might help, but only short term. Suggest to attend group therapies to overcome your debilitating social phobia. Further, you can try hypnotherapy that can help you immensely. Read the following article as it can give a better idea on social anxiety disorder.
