Question: Head tremors/social phobia?
(Posted by: Mike Armstrong on 2010-07-05 19:42:18)
I have had a severe anxiety disorder for more than 15 years. it developed when I was around 17 years old. it is a severe form of social anxiety in which whenever I am around anyone, especially authority figures, women that I am attracted to, or any business type function, my head will severely tense up and go into tremors and spasms. it first developed out of an irrational phobia i had in my teens that my genitalia was protruding out of my pants. at first it would only happen during erections but then it became a fixation and preoccupation with the positioning of my penis in my underwear and how i could conceal it. this would be especially bad when i would sit down and i would feel like my pants were sticking up, anyway, this was the first source of anxiety which i notice would cause my head spasms. needless to say, 15 years of this destroyed my self confidence, social life and sense of identity. |

Yeah, i kinda know what you're going through because i developed social anxiety disorder when i was about 14 or so & its only now, 21 years later, i'm getting over it. I don't know why i began to suffer with it, but i do know trying to ignore it, in the hope that it goes away, isn't the answer. Please, if you really want help with it, see your doctor. Thats the only answer. And follow whatever advice or course of medication your doctor offers you. Life is a damn sight better without social anxiety disorder! |
